A multitude of emotions and thoughts go into making up excuses to explain your report card before you get home. Your heart literally sinks to the pit of your stomach, as your eyes zoom in on that bright red, fire-breathing failing grade. You felt like you just received a death sentence, because you knew your parents were going to kill you once they saw it. On the flipside, you breathed a sigh of relief when you barely passed a class with a "C" instead of that bright red D, E or F.

As a writer what on earth could you find interesting enough to capture your reader's attention when writing about your report card? Let's examine some of the emotions you probably felt and incorporate them into assorted storyboards:

1. What were my grades?

2. What type of anxiety did I feel before I looked at my report card?

3. What kind of comments did my teachers write on my report card?

4. How will my parents or guardians react?

5. Who is my favorite teacher and why?

6. Did my least favorite teacher give me an unfavorable grade?

7. Will I be grounded or still be able to hang out with my friends?

8. Will I need a tutor?

9. How will these grades affect my decision to get into college?

10. Does a bad grade impact someone's decision to drop out of school?

Whatever the results are on your report card, how does that affect your study habits? Are you willing to seek help before your grade point average drops horribly? Are you dealing with an adult situation that's interfering with your dedication to study? Do your parents need to be more proactive with your school work and teachers?

Teachers were students once upon a time and many of them will understand if you are honestly trying hard to pass your classes, despite daily distractions. There are two types of carburettors:

By Jarl Jacobsen

http://www.online-carburetor.biz

There are two types of carburettors: fixed choke and constant depression, the first type, fixed choke carburettors, makes the varying air pressure in the venture alter the fuel flow; this is the common downdraft carburettor found on American and most Japanese cars. The other type, the constant depression carburettors vary the airflow to change the fuel jet opening witch in turn altars the fuel flow. A vacuumed operated piston connected to a tapered needle, which slides inside the fuel jet, does this. The most common variable choke (constant depression) type carburettor is the side draft SU carburettor, which was simple in principle to adjust and maintain. This rose to a position of domination in the UK car market for that reason. Other similar designs are used on some European and a few Japanese automobiles.

Although the differences between the two types of carburettors are extensive there main function remains, they need to measure the airflow of the engine at any time, and then deliver the correct amount of fuel to keep the fuel/air mixture perfect and then mix the fuel and air evenly. A carburettor must provide the proper fuel/air mixture under a wide variety of different circumstances and engine speed range, random events that will affect the performance of the carburettor can be things like acceleration and cold start, waiting at a red light etc. This will be hard to do when you on top of this will need to maintain as low rates of exhaust emissions as humanly possibly for a poor carburettor. To function correctly under all these conditions, most carburettors contain a complex set of mechanisms to support several different operating modes, called circuits.

You see, if the car has electronic controlled injection intake instead of a carburettor it will automatically adjust the intake according to previously programmed numbers and algorithms provided by the manufacturer. A carburettor on the other hand will usually not have any computer components, thus making the fuel/air mixture controlling purely mechanical. Also an injection intake will separate the air from the fuel allowing it to inject them independently from each other, the carburettor will accomplish both simultaneously as the throttle is opened.

An other difference between a carburettor and an injection is the way it is utilized when cold starting an engine, when the engine is cold, fuel vaporizes less readily and tends to condense on the walls of the intake manifold, starving the cylinders of fuel and making the engine difficult to start; thus, a richer mixture (more fuel to air) is required to start and run the engine until it warms up. In an injection engine a computer will control this automatically, but again the carburettor has to do this manually, therefore you will see a choke on a carburetted car and usually not in an injection based car.

Are Students Getting In Over Their Head With Student Credit Card Debt?

It?s no big surprise that major credit card companies are aiming their marketing campaigns towards our countries up and coming generation. To credit card companies, no consumer is more profitable than today?s college students.

Students are big business to them, and for good reasons. Why? Simple, teens like to spend money they don?t have! Were you poor when you left the house and took your first shot at the big University? Yeah, so was I. In fact the majority of today?s college students live off of loans and a minimum wage job, leaving them very little to spend on merchandise. This is where the credit card companies make their killing. Instead of saving up for that cute pink shirt on the clearance rack, or that shiny new watch, students can charge it to the new ?low? APR student card they just received in the mail. In fact, by opening up credit card booths Nationwide, credit card companies are making it easier than ever for students to get their feet wet.

So in answer to the topic question: yes, students are most definitely getting in over their head when it comes to credit and debt management. If your part of the younger generation you may recall getting your very first shiny gold/platinum card in the mail. Do you remember skipping all the fine print mumbo jumbo? Well, most students today are in the same boat. The only thing we cared about is that little line at the bottom that tells us how much we can spend: our line of credit. The fact is, Most ?Student? credit cards come with a ridiculously high APR and crippling late fee charges, which in most cases, cause the APR to soar even higher!

This may seem a little redundant and obvious to you and I, but to students the phrases ?APR?, ?late fees? and ?interest rates? aren?t an established part of their vocabulary yet. This is where things get sticky. The statistics don?t lie, and research has it that nearly 11 percent of people who seek credit counseling are under the age of 24. According to Colorado Public Interest Research Group, 49 percent of Colorado's college students have more than one credit card, which is higher than the national average of 37%!

The solution should be obvious. Students should be taught about credit and debt management. In fact, most students don?t even know that free nonprofit credit counseling agencies are at their disposal, nationwide. Counseling can help make budgets or stop students from sinking further in debt. They also re-teach young students the ?value? of the dollar bill, a concept slowly diminishing in our day and age. It?s obvious credit card companies care very little about this. The more we don?t know, the more they make.

Adam Boulton is currently enrolled as a full-time student and has seen first hand the damages student credit cards can cause. If you would like more info about the pros and cons of student credit cards please visit his website at StudentResourceCenter.com
